Mazda has unveiled its CX-5 2.0L Carbon Edition FWD in announcing an update to their multi-award-winning Mazda CX-5 range.

The Carbon Edition comes standard with the same 2.0L SKYACTIV-G engine (121kW/ 213Nm) offered on the current 2.0L range.

Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition: Automatic transmission only

The 2.0L Carbon Edition FWD will be available in automatic transmission only based on the current 2.0L Individual Auto FWD.

The CX-5 2.0L Carbon Edition will serve as a replacement model for the outgoing 2.0L Individual Auto FWD.

Sporty style and interior comfort

“The Mazda CX-5 is still an appealing SUV with its exterior styling, comfortable and pleasing interior, and the many standard features it offers, said Mazda Southern Africa managing director Craig Roberts.

“We have added the Carbon Edition to subtlety enhance the style of this SUV further, while retaining its outstanding balance of ride and handling.”

The exterior sports styling elements such as glossy black exterior mirrors and 19-inch black metallic alloy wheels.

The interior package will include: Black film on the dashboard and door panels; red stitching on the steering wheel, gear lever, knee pads and seats; a leather and suede combination seat trim with red stitching.

The Mazda CX-5 2.0L Carbon Edition model will be available in the following six colours: Snowflake White Pearl, Sonic Silver, Machine Grey, Soul Red Crystal, Polymetal Grey, and Jet Black.

The Mazda CX-5 model line-up will be retained in its current format, offering seven options:

  • 2.0L Active FWD (Manual and Auto)
  • 2.0L Dynamic FWD (Manual and Auto)
  • 2.0L Carbon Edition FWD (Auto)
  • 2.5L Individual AWD (Auto)
  • 2.2L DE Akera AWD (Auto)

The Mazda CX-5 range comes standard with a three-year unlimited kilometre service plan.

To provide complete peace-of-mind motoring, the company added that a three-year factory warranty, a three-year roadside assistance and a five-year Corrosion Warranty are also included.
